You & Your Surfing

You & Your Surfing

If an average 40 year old person can achieve this progression then so can you.

Are you catching every wave?

What are your common surfing problems & who would you love to ask some surfing related questions to?

Wave pools are not meant to replace surfing in the ocean, clearly a wave pool barrel is not Pipeline, but for most Surfers a barrel is just a dream.

Until now.

If you don’t have easy access to surf or aren’t getting enough waves to achieve any meaningful time riding them then training at the wave pool is an amazing solution to help with progression.

Made by a Surfer for every Surfer, there is no holding back of the fails and mistakes.

Learning

Learning

Some of the best past times don’t offer instant gratification.

Whilst the long learning process can be frustrating at times and it's also what makes it so much fun, addictive and enjoyable to many people.

Who likes being stuck making the same mistakes and doesn't like seeing themselves progress and over come an annoying bad habit?

Text books, theory and the classroom are all good up to a certain point, but nothing beats actual practice.

However, it's not risk free.

The main problems to watch out for are Bad Habits caused by:

  1. Low Quality information which can be very difficult to unlearn

  1. Finding & Access to the high quality information isn't always easy

Back Story

Back Story

20 years ago, James Davies (Hodi.tv Founder) saw the introduction of wind tunnels and the game changing impact they had on the sport of skydiving.

Participants were now able to practice in artificial training environments independent of the weather and living close to an airport drop zone.

Wind tunnels were never meant to replace the sky, they just provided an amazing training environment in which hours more practice could be achieved, and that resulted in techniques progressing faster anyone thought possible.

People who adopted the training environment could develop ‘in air skills’ in months that had taken many people years to achieve.

See our Founders YouTube vlog that demonstrates what wave pools can do for a normal person's surfing progression.

Video Analysis & Feedback Loop

Video Analysis & Feedback Loop

Video analysis was also key to the learning process.

When a participant tries to implement a new skill then they need to see what they were actually doing compared to what they felt they were doing.

Video doesn’t lie.

It provides an essential feedback loop to allow comparison to what the person is trying to do vs. what they are actually doing and adjustments to be made.
